Mr. Richard “Rick” Wayne Lund of Grande Prairie,
Alberta, formerly of Bluffton, Alberta, passed away
tragically at the University of Alberta Hospital,
Edmonton on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at the age of 40
years.
Rick was born on August 9, 1965 at Williams Lake,
B.C., moving with his family at the age of six years, to
the Iola District. He lived most of his life in Alberta,
working as a meat cutter in various locations. Rick loved
sports, and played ball and hockey on the local teams.
Rick will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Sandra
(Marvin) Koenig of Rimbey; his father, Ralph (Sandy)
Lund of Sylvan Lake; his sister, Sherry (Trevor) Butz
and two special nieces, Rylee and MacKenzie, all of Red
Deer; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rick was predeceased by his grandparents and numerous
other relatives.
Memorial Services in Celebration of Rick’s Life were
held at the Hoadley Evangelical Missionary Church,
Hoadley on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with
the Reverend Glen Simmonds officiating. Interment
followed in the Hoadley Cemetery, Hoadley.
Cremation took place in Red Deer, Alberta. If friends
desire, memorial tributes in Rick’s Memory may be
made directly to the Epilepsy Association of Calgary,
4112 — 4th Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2K 1A2; or to
