It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Necia Audrey May Jones on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the age of 69 years.
Necia was born on February 7, 1943 in Hearst, Ontario to Fern and Ivan Coulam. She moved across Canada with her mother and five siblings in 1958. While her family continued west to Creston, B.C., Necia settled in Picture Butte, Alberta where she met and married Darrell Eugene Jones, and together they raised four children. Necia worked for many years throughout the community of Picture Butte. She was an avid and accomplished gardener, and had a great love for raising animals. She was well-known for her array of exotic and domestic pets, and her delicious and showy garden produce and flowers. Upon their retirement, Necia and Darrell moved to Rimbey, Alberta where she resided until her passing.
Necia has been reunited with her parents and joins her husband, Darrell in a place we call Heaven. Many fond and loving memories have been left in the care of her daughters, Shannon Goodrich of Victoria, B.C.; and Darla Vanderheide (Lane Yezivich) of Picture Butte; and her sons, Henry (Ragean) of Picture Butte; and Darren (Patricia) of Rimbey. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by fifteen grand-children; ten great grandchildren; four sisters, three brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as the special caregivers and residents in Area Three of the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre.
A Memorial Tribute to Celebrate Necia's Life will be held at the Elks Hall, Picture Butte, Alberta on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Enchant Cemetery. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If friends desire, memorial donations in Necia's Memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Area Three, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0.
