HENGEL, Neil Gregory
Neil Gregory Hengel was born on May 28, 1931 in Galahad, Alberta and was called Home to be with his Lord on September 19, 2016 at the age of 85 years.
Neil was a resident of Vernon since 1966 and will be lovingly remembered by his children; Deb of Vancouver, B.C., Doug (Sandi) of Campbell River, B.C. and Dennis (Jodi of Vernon, B.C.; three grandchildren, Rachael, Greg and Katelyn; one great-grandson, Dominic; ;one sister, Gerry McPherson of Medicine Hat, Alberta; two brother, Don (Lois) of Westlock, Alberta and Pat of Ft.. McMurray, Alberta; one sister-in-law, Cally Hengel of Cranbrook, B.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rena, to who he was married for 63 years; one brother Lowell; one brother-in-law, Don McPherson; and one sister-in-law, Diane Hengel.
A Prayer Vigil Service was held at St. James Catholic Church on Friday, September 30, 2016, followed by the Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Cremation to follow.
