In Loving Memory ~
Lifelong Rimbey resident, Neville is survived by his 3 daughters, Marian; Lisa (Kelly and Dain and great-grandson Jacob); Iris (Samuel and Rachel); sister, Doris; sister-in-law, Jean; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Dad was predeceased by his first and only love of 51 years, Edith (nee Hawkings); his father, Henry and mother, Amy (nee Burchnall); sister, Enid; and brothers-in-law, Gord and George.
Neville spent his lifetime in service to his family and community. His involvements were too numerous to list. Highlights include the following: proud WWII Air Force veteran; Member of Rimbey Legion (>76yrs); Rimbey town councillor (5 yrs); Rimbey mayor (11 yrs); Alberta MLA (4 yrs); chairman - many local, provincial, and federal organizations; awarded Golden, Diamond and Platinum Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee medals for significant contributions and service to Canada, his community and fellow Canadians.
Dad lived life large right to the very end! His enthusiasm for life was infectious, his sense of humour keen. Most of all, beneath his outspoken external demeanour, lay a kind soul guided by deep integrity and honour. He will be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, September 16, at the Zion Lutheran Church, 4521 54 Ave, Rimbey; followed by a tea in the church hall (Rimbey Anglican Church Ladies presiding).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Rimbey Anglican Church of the Epiphany, the Rimbey Hospital, the Blindman Valley Handi-Van Society and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36 (Rimbey).
