Otto Kreil of Winfield, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre, Calgary on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 76 years.
Otto dedicated his whole life to his family…and was never happier than when he was surrounded by everyone he loved. Otto spent his younger years ranching in Manyberries, Alberta. When they moved to the Winfield area, he continued his love for cattle, and ranching with his family. Over the years, Otto focused more on family and less on work, spending his summers traveling, camping, and making cherished memories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Otto will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his two sons: Skeiter (Sheryl) Kreil of Red Deer; and Keith (Karen) Kreil of Winfield; and his daughter, Branella (Nigel) Persaud of Beaumont; as well as twelve cherished grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by three sisters: Ester Larson of Lethbridge; Irene Lutz of Medicine Hat; and Lillian Schreiber, also of Medicine Hat; in addition to several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Otto was predeceased by his parents; his great granddaughter, Rowen; and an infant brother, Johnny.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Otto's Life was held at the Hoadley Community Hall, Hoadley on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Bend officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
