Percy Edward Waldner of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre, Long Term Care on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the age of 85 years.

Percy was born and raised in the farming community of Langham, Saskatchewan. After leaving the farm, he worked for a brief period on the oil rigs in Alberta and Saskatchewan. When he relocated to Rimbey, Percy established the well-known Rimbey Meat Processing which he owned and operated for many years. He was an avid community volunteer. Percy was a volunteer fireman with the Rimbey Fire Department for many years, as well as a Rimbey Lions Club member who took pleasure in volunteering his time towards many local projects and events. Percy also enjoyed playing Men's Senior Hockey, and did so well into his 60's! He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Percy will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife, Fay; his two sons, Neil Waldner of Joussard, Alberta; and Garnet (Anita) Waldner of Bluffton; and his two daughters, Sheila (Mike) Kavanaugh of Mission, B.C.; and Della Peabody (Pat Dube) of Barrhead; as well as his stepdaughter, Lynn Breen (Darryl Witcher) of Red Deer; in addition to eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Percy was predeceased by his parents, Christina and Andrew Waldner; two brothers, Archie and Andy; and one sister, Mary Wurtz.

A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Percy's Life will be held today, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. Interment will take place at a later date in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey.
