Phylis Lorraine

January 5, 1927 - May 18, 2015


On Monday, May 18th, Phylis Lorraine Watson went home to be with her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, whom she loved for 65 years.

Phylis leaves to cherish her memory; her beloved husband of 69 years, Robert (Bob), she was the much loved mother of, Bonnie (Jim) Peel of Ontario, Robert Eric of Red Deer, Alberta, Anne (Bob) Burke of Ontario, Dorothy (Roy) Payne of Newfoundland, Trueman James of Calgary and David (Susan) of Alder Flats, special Grandma to 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, one sister Joan Steeves, as well as a very special friend to Jim and Joanne Stenstrom of Three Hills, Alberta.

She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers; Edwin(Ted), James, William (Bill), two sisters; Winnie Donovan and Doris Mantynen.

Phylis was born Phylis Lorraine Everitt to James and Isabel Everitt on January 5, 1927 in Oshawa, Ontario. She had a great concern for young people and was deeply involved in Sunday School and girls ministries. She served in Pioneer Girls for many years. In 1976 with her husband Bob, she came to Alberta where they established the Grace Ranch. Phylis loved people and was a gifted seamstress.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Debbie Lee, the Begg Family, Winfield Care and the staff at Rimbey Hospital Long Term Care.

Funeral Services for Phylis will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Alder Flats Community Centre, with Pastor Erwin Buchholz officiating and Interment to follow and the Alder Flats Cemetery.
