Mrs. Phyllis Mary Johnston (nee Trevelyan) of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the age of 97 years.
Phyllis was born in Bristol, Somerset, England on March 21, 1911, and came to Calgary with her family in April, 1912. She moved to Rimbey in 1994, and resided at the Kansas Ridge One Apartments, Parkland Manor, and lastly, Long Term Care.
Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her son, Allan (Carol) Johnston of Grande Prairie; and her daughter, Mary (Aubrey) Finnen of Rimbey; as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Katherine Johnston (Mike Fox) of Vancouver, B.C.; Carl Johnston (Shannon Pratt) of Edmonton and their children, Brendan, Anthony and Shayla; Matthew (Lesley) Finnen of Edmonton and their children, Marley and Clara; and Laura Finnen of Sylvan Lake. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Clifford; and her sister, Irene. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Richard in December, 1986; her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Mae Johnston in 1997; her brothers, Fred, Howard and Maurice; and her sisters, Doris and Olive.
With respect for Phyllis’ wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. Cremation took place in Red Deer, Alberta. Interment will take place at a later date in the Union Cemetery, Calgary.
