Robert (Bob) Charles
On Friday December 30, 2011, Bob Reid passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Long Term Care Centre at the age of 80. Bob was born October 10, 1931 in Gadsby, AB to Robert and Florence. He had five brothers and sisters. Bob married Mary (Gerlitz) and had eight children. Bob made the Town of Bentley his home for most their life. It was a place where he raised his family and touched the lives of friends and neighbours. He loved his John Deere tractor and was known for his rototilling of gardens expertise and plowing snow. He worked throughout the community, whether it was maintaining the arena, driving truck or school bus and cleaning various buildings over the years. Bob will be remembered by his children: Cyril (Dianne) Reid, Bev Reid, Debbie (Brian) Spenst, Robert Jr (Denise) Reid, David (Gail) Reid, Larry (Loretta) Reid, Sheila (Doug) Croft, Tammy (Cameron) Mathewson, sixteen Grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren and numerous relatives. A funeral service will be held Wednesday January 4, 2012 at The Bentley Community Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Bentley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Crohns Foundation of Canada.
