Robert James Krest (Bob) of Summer Village of Parkland passed away peacefully in the Bentley Care Center on Sunday April 3, 2011 with his loving wife Susan by his side. Bob was born in Eckville, Alberta on June 16, 1941 to James and Anne Krest. Bob grew up in Condor with his two older brothers Albert and George. He married Susan in 1961 and they had two children Brian (Janice), and Annette. He later had five grand children, Johnathan, Garrett, Jenna, Jorja, Chantalle, and a great grandson Malakai. Bob started driving truck when he was 18 years old. Later on he ran trucking crews while working on the pipelines. His children have fond memories of Bob taking them for rides in the trucks when he was hauling pipe. While he was healthy he was actively involved in the local community where he was always willing to help a friend, share a good laugh, and have a game of cards. In his last few years while he was in poor health he showed people how to reach within themselves to never give up. He will be missed by his family and they will never forget what he taught them. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe, AB.
