"Our Mom's History"
Rose was born in Coronation, Alberta in 1924. She lived on the family farm with her parents, Jack and Florence Chinnery; three brothers (Walter, John and Aldis). She attended a rural school until grade 10.
On November 9, 1948, Rose married Floris Looy and farmed together in the Coronation area until 1957 when they moved to farm in the Rimbey area, settling on our home farm in the Leedale area in 1962. Rose worked at the Rimbey Hotel as a cook for over 10 years.
Rose was gardener, and a homemaker extrodinaire. She was a devoted mother inspiring a very close, hardworking family. She had a love for nature and the outdoors, was an obsessive card player and an avid knitter. Rose will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by a great many friends and family. Survived by three daughters; Valerie Clement (Ken), Carolyn Rallison (Chuck) and Bonnie Looy (Harold Watson); four grandsons and seven great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husband, Floris in 1988, daughter, Flora in 1986 and son, Daryl in 1969.
