ROGERS
Mr. Roy James Rogers of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Mazankowski Alberta
Heart Institute, Edmonton on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the age of 82 years.
Roy was born in Vegreville, Alberta on June 30, 1928. He lived most of his life in the Forshee area where he farmed and ran a small business.
"Roy will be greatly missed by his family and many friends."
Roy will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 33 years, Therese; seven sons, Doug (Kim) Rogers of Bentley; David (Alana) Rogers of Bentley; Patrick Rogers of Sylvan Lake; Frank (Linda) Dobos of Edmonton; Ken (Sheralyn) Dobos of Camrose; Lavern (Janet) Dobos of Lacombe; and Ralph (Cindy) Dobos of Bowden; two daughters, Tracy Everest of Ponoka; and Terry Rogers of Carstairs; as well as sixteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brother, Gordon Rogers of North Vancouver, B.C.; and two sisters, Rosamond (Bob) Duke of Lacombe; and Sylvia Tentinger of Camrose; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents; and his granddaughter, Kathy.
Relatives and Friends were invited to a Prayer Vigil which was held at St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Rimbey on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Rimbey on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Father Gabriel Udeh and the Reverend Father Peter Sharpe, Concelebrants. Cremation followed at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Roy's Memory may be made directly to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, 2A9.006 MAHI, 8440 - 112 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 2B7; to St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Box 8, Rimbey, Alberta, T0C 2J0; or to the charity of one's choice.
