On December 9, 2019 at the age of 82 years, and after a long battle with dementia, Sheila Wettstein of Fort MacLeod, Alberta was set free to join her Father in Heaven.
Sheila is survived by the love of her life, devoted husband and eternal companion Emil. She is also survived by her brother Eric (Eileen); children Michael (Faïzilée), Christopher (Holly), Katherine (Glenn) and James (Amy); grandchildren Sarah (Ricardo), Amanda, Matthew, Emily, Jacob, Abby, Samuel, Kelty, Eric, Maren and Marla; great grandchildren Dévi and Kylian; dear sister-in-law Wilma, as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Sheila is predeceased by her parents William and Catherine; brothers William, James and Richard; sisters Aileen and Letitia. She is also predeceased by her half-brothers George and Edward, and half-sisters Margaret and Maureen, all from Australia.
A special thank you to all the staff of Extendicare Fort MacLeod, as well as the numerous doctors, nurses and caregivers who have kindly cared for our dear mother over the years.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 between 12 pm and 3 pm at the LDS Church in Fort MacLeod, AB (643 20 Street). If desired, please bring a potluck item to share, and wear pink and/or purple in honour of Sheila's love of these things.
Most of Sheila's life was devoted to becoming a better human and a kinder person, so in lieu of flowers please honour her memory by being kind to others and remembering to love yourselves.
