With sadness we announce the passing of Silk Elizabeth Torris of Rimbey, formerly of Red Deer, Alberta. Silk passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the age of 32 years.
Silk was born and raised in the Rimbey area, and worked with Red Deer Child Care Services for close to ten years. She had a passion to work and interact with children, and especially loved her little girl, Reese. She will be loved and remembered by everyone she met.
Silk will be greatly missed and her memory never forgotten in the hearts of her loving family: her parents, Heather and Robert Torris of Rimbey; her precious daughter, Reese Elizabeth; one brother, Mark Oddie of Rimbey and his daughter, Morgan; and her maternal grandparents, Jack and Margaret Gurnett of Bluffton. Her memory will also be treasured by many other relatives and several close and cherished friends. Silk was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Edward and Amelia Torris.
With respect for Silk's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. An Informal Gathering of Family and Friends in her honour will be held at a later date.
