SAWYER
Mr. Thomas "Gary" Sawyer of Bentley, Alberta, passed away peacefully following a brief illness, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer on Friday, July 23, 2010 at the age of 72 years. Gary will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife and best friend of 25 years, Shirley; his two sons, Rob (Glenda) Sawyer of Hespero, Alberta; and Dan (Colleen) Sawyer of Benalto; his daughter, Deb Sawyer (Dan Anderson) of Rocky Mountain House; his stepson, Don (Jeannie) Benson of Sylvan Lake; and his two stepdaughters, Joanne (Glenn) Halladay of Thorsby; and Cindy (Rick) Henning of Red Deer; as well as his cherish grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will also be loving remembered and sadly missed by one brother, Dave (Corrine) Sawyer of Bentley; and two sisters, Nina Mill of Rimbey; and Diane (Brian) Lenz of Bentley; in addition to many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Gary was predeceased by his parents; his son, Douglas Gary Sawyer; and three stepbrothers, Ted Sawyer; Millard Sawyer and Eddie Sawyer. A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Gary's Life was held at the Blindman Valley Agricultural Centre, Bentley on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Rathjen officiating. Interment followed in the Bentley Cemetery, Bentley.
