THORINSON
Tilly Thorinson of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the age of 103 years, beloved wife of the late Steve Thorinson. She leaves to cherish her memory her special nieces, Ruby Anderson and Mae Hink as well as other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve on August 3, 1990, her parents, Fred and Carrie Hink, six sisters and four brothers. Tilly was born in Eculit, Minnesota on April 1, 1906. As a family they moved to Canada when Tilly was 3 weeks old, settling in Hatton, Saskatchewan. When she grew up, she moved to Calgary and began working at the Palliser Hotel where she met the love of her life, Steve. They were married on October 3, 1930 and in 1946 they moved to Innisfail, then to Caroline where she was a hair dresser. They then moved to Irvine, Alberta where they resided for many years. After Steve passed away she moved to Medicine Hat where she lived at Mayfair Manor, then moving to the Teoda Lodge, when her friend Doris Weimer helped her to get settled, her final move was to the Cypress View Lodge and Medicine Hat Regional Hospital where she passed away. Many thanks go out to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Palliative Care, the staff at the Teeoda and Cypris View Lodge as well as the Home Care girls. A private graveside service will take place.
