Vicki
Vicki Merkus was born in Raymond, Alberta on July 2, 1961. She grew up in Blackfalds, attended grade school there and attended high school in Lacombe. Vicki married Clark Merkus in 1983 and they moved to the Neerlandia area where they became the parents of 3 children. Family and community were a big part of Vicki's life, but her kids were what she lived for. Vicki leaves to mourn, her husband Clark; her children Nicole, Marla, and Myles; her parents Don and Hazel Heistad; her sisters and their husbands: Lynn (Murrough) Quiding, Wanda (Dale) McNaught, Joanne (Terry) McNaught, and Debbie Heistad; Clark's family: Raymond and Eleanor Merkus; Rene' and Crystal Hoekstra; and Glen and Bernie Merkus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from the Neerlandia Christian Reformed Church.
