Wayne Jack Mohr of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the age of 80 years.
Wayne was born in Lamont, Alberta and grew up in Manning. In 1960, he graduated from the RCMP, Troop F. While serving in Biggar, Saskatchewan, he met his wife and best friend, Jacque. The majority of Wayne's service career was enjoyed across the NWT, from Aklavik to Yellowknife. He retired to Rimbey in the early 1990s. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be forever remembered as kind and generous, and for his love of family, friends, woodworking, golf, and curling.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his two daughters, Trudy (Julian) Gauthier of Stony Plain; and Gina (Geof) Chambers of Paddockwood, Saskatchewan; his cherished grandchildren; and his sister, Faye Mohr (Bill) of British Columbia; as well as many other relatives and close friends. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Louise; and his beloved wife, Jacque in 2007.
Friends are cordially invited to join the Family at an Informal Gathering to Celebrate Wayne's Life, which will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (5019 - 50 Avenue), Rimbey on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend to share your stories of Wayne. An Interment Service will precede the gathering at 11:00 am in the West Haven Cemetery (west of Rimbey on Highway 53 and Range Road 31). We remind those who will be attending, that provincial health guidelines for public gatherings remain in place, and COVID protocols will apply.
