In Loving Memory ~
Wilfred Laurier Wiese of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the age of 90 years.
Wilfred was born in Bentley, Alberta on July 4, 1931 to Ralph and Alice (neé Jackson) Wiese. He was raised in the Lockhart District community where he lived and farmed all his life, relocating to their condo in Rimbey in 2017.
Wilfred is survived by his loving wife, Catherine "Suzie" of 65 years; and his children: Robyn (Mark), Cameron (Chris), and Darcy (Sireen); as well as five grandchildren: Bobbi (Travis), Wayne (Janelle), Kyler, Kallie (Jeremy), and Damon; and seven great grandchildren: Drayden, Avery, Wyatt, Jordyn, Lachlan, Oaklyn, and Rhyett.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Wiese, and Jeanne (Bill) Beny; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends. Wilfred was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Alice in 1958; six brothers: Allan and his wife Velma, an infant brother Vernon, Laurin and his wife June, Detlef and his wife Shirley, Jack and his wife Martha, and Verne; and one sister Marjorie and her husband Ken James.
Wilfred's family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre who cared for Wilfred so compassionately during his short stay there. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Ellis, as well as to all of Wilfred's friends and family for the wonderful support provided to our dad, our mom, and to our whole family.
With respect for Wilfred's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A Family Celebration of Wilfred's Life will be held.
