Dear Editor:
Most of the time I enjoy living in a small town; I can still take my dog out in the back lane late at night without fear of being bashed over the head but sometimes living in a small town can be downright frustrating and annoying.
That is when a bunch of amateurs are about to make major decisions that affect a lot of people.
Take this library plebiscite for example: I am being asked to vote on a question that has two things intrinsically intertwined.
I am a firm believer in and supporter of public libraries but I am also vehemently opposed to have the Rimbey town hall being relocated to the Provincial Building.
So, why can I not vote Yes to the library expansion and No to the relocation of the town hall to the Provincial Building?
A town hall belongs as much as possible in the centre of town.
As the question is phrased as reported, I will have no choice but to vote No.
