Recalls make things incredibly difficult

We have enough to worry about when it comes to food

We have enough to worry about when it comes to food. With prices at an all time high, the last thing we should have to worry about is if it's safe to eat.

Unfortunately for me, I'm much more limited now in what I can eat, as my little one has an intolerance to dairy and soy. I've made it my mission to, of course, look up homemade recipes and things that I can eat that I can still enjoy. For example, pasta is my favourite, but I can't have butter, so I've learned to cook with lemon juice and olive oil a lot more. I also use coconut oil for things like popcorn and cooking in general. I highly recommend coconut oil for potatoes! I actually like that as much as I do potatoes with butter.

With all of this said, recalls on certain foods, especially ones that I'm limited to, make it hard, as that's another means for something to eliminate from my diet for the safety of me and baby.

Don't even get me started on formula and baby products that have been recalled. I can't believe it! I'm all about fed is best when it comes to how one feeds their baby. I used a combination of formula and breast milk with my older two as breastfeeding was a challenge in the end, but with our third boy, breastfeeding is all he does, as dairy-free and soy-free formula are expensive and he just prefers breastfeeding. I'm kind of glad, as it makes it easier to navigate with all of these recalls on formula and lack of formula options out there!

Moms have enough to worry about already, with the sleepless nights and having to care for her baby. We shouldn't have to worry about the safety of the food we eat or provide to our baby.

My aunt recently contacted me, telling me about certain plant-based milks that were recalled. I quickly checked my fridge, as that's all I have in my coffee and cereal every day. I have already found it incredibly difficult to change my entire diet, as I find soy in everything I eat! Now, I need to check to see if what I'm eating or drinking is safe. It's so annoying.

I will say that when the day comes when I am cleared to eat soy and dairy again, a pizza will be one of the first meals I run to.

For now, I'll be following along to make sure all the food I do eat is safe. Be careful out there folks!
