Rimbey’s merchants cross everyone off the Christmas list

This week Rimbey will be hosting it’s first ever Rimbey’s Main Street Merchants Twilight Shopping Night.

This week Rimbey will be hosting it’s first ever Rimbey’s Main Street Merchants Twilight Shopping Night.

It’s probably the easiest way to shop and support the local merchants of Rimbey this holiday season. I’m honestly pretty excited for it.

I’ll be in town that night and my son and I will be starting our Christmas shopping so this event kind of happened at the perfect time.

I have worked and lived in a few small towns in Alberta and Rimbey by far has the most impressive retail selection.

It’s kind of hard to figure out where to go first.

I know I’ll be stopping by Old County Rose Antiques because they will, (as always) have great hidden treasures from the past and I have a lot of friends on my list that like the vintage gifts. Tucked away in the store you will find vintage toys that will shoot a person back to their childhood, hard to find vinyl records that any music lover has been hunting forever and a day for and even furniture, if you’re needing to add some extra seating space for all the visitors over the holidays.

Blue Bird Coffee Co. will be open so you can cross off the caffeine connoisseur on your list. We all know one or two. I might just even pick something up for myself for in the mornings.

Mandy’s Fashions and Mini Mee Clothing will have their best duds on display so you can pick something out for the partner, kids or yourself (I won’t tell, I’m guilty of the one thing for them, two for me kind of shopping style).

I haven’t been in there yet but I am going to stop into Rimbey TV. I have a lot of tech lovers on my list. Not just TVs, they have computers, phone and car audio - my son is only seven so he’s not quite begging me for a sweet audio system just yet but I’m sure if you have any young drivers they might be pretty jazzed find a some car audio with their name on it on Christmas.

My husband is a hard person to shop for so then I’ll stop by Alberta Lazer Engraving . They will have their doors open, ready to personalize anything might have picked up — or if you are stuck, like I am for gifts, they are willing to help you pick the right thing out. Apparel, photo engraving, drink ware, kitchenware and other personalized items that really will be a one of a kind gift.

Maxwell Capital will be open to stop by and visit and take a short break before continuing on your way.

I love decorating for the holidays and I attempt to be creative but there are people better at it than I am. Mainly the folks at Blooms. I’m told they can help you find festive bouquets and arrangements for your home that will impress even the pickiest mother in law.

Ammonite World Storefront will be on hand to amaze you withe fossil and gem finds. For anyone you might be shopping for into Feng Shui, this store will be your gold mine for gifts.

Style Right will be able to book your appointments for upcoming Christmas parties or replenish your stockpile of hair and beauty accessories.

In the middle of all the action, Rimbey Guardian Drug Mart and Pharmasave will be open. They have great stocking stuffer ideas and if you need to pick up anything last minute for your day too, you can do that.

On the south side, Rendezvous Hops & Grillwill be ready to welcome weary shoppers who are needing pick me up half way through the night or a warm and cozy close to the evening with your shopping partners.

Needless to say, a lot of small communities host similar events but this one will be a little bit different. After you’re done shopping, stop by the Rimbey Review to wrap your gifts and warm up. (If you have nay news tips feel free to bring those with you as well!)

Put it this way, the line up of stores and services that will be open are good enough that Santa himself is going to picking up a few things for some people on his list in town.

We will see you on main street, on Thursday. Dec. 2 from 5 p.m to 8 p.m.
