The month of love and celebration

Lots of exciting things happening this month.

I used to hate Valentine's Day when I was in university, but I've learned to really enjoy it over the years, especially with having kids. It's another excuse to do fun activities and sensory bins, which I love creating for them. I also, of course, have the excuse to go on a nice date with my husband, something we rarely get to do anymore with three little guys. If we do go out, it's always with them, which can be quite the adventure!

This month is also the month of birthdays. It's my birthday, followed by my oldest son's and then our family friend's birthday. We are going bowling this year for his birthday party, which will be held separately from his actual birthday, making it a busy month!

I was also looking back at old photos and noticed we had our gender reveal for our oldest at this exact bowling alley, talk about meant to be. I can't believe how much time has gone by. My husband and I are going to try and wear the same outfits we did back then and recreate the moment, this time with him in the picture. Life is sure beautiful.

Birthdays are always so much fun to celebrate. It's a new age, almost like a fresh start. You never know what the year will bring, and what they will be interested in. In this current moment, it's all about Spider-Man for my oldest and, of course, his trucks. It will be an interesting experience making a Spider-Man cake, but I cheated a little and bought a Spider-Man cake pan, so now all I have to do is fill in the lines. How hard can it be? Hopefully not!

For my birthday this year, I just want to spend time with my family and maybe head to Ikea to get some home inspiration for our next house. It's getting closer and closer until we sell our home, and I'm getting pretty excited. What a big change that will be for us.

This month, my middle guy will be starting skating lessons, which he and I are so excited about. The kids are really getting into that age where they are showing interest in certain sports or activities. My oldest does not like skating. I think it's because if he can't do something right away, he gets frustrated. Swimming is more his speed. He loves to swim, so swimming lessons it is!

I'm excited for the month ahead, and hope everyone is enjoying this nice 'warm' winter. Hopefully, I didn't jinx it!
