Over 100 pounds of food was collected during the Rimbey Charity Check stop.
Rimbey Victim Services, Rimbey RCMP and Ponoka County West District Fire and EMS held their annual checksop in Rimbey on Dec. 8.
Despite the check stop being shut down an hour early due to an emergency call, the check stop is being considered a success.
“We don’t have an official dollar count yet, but I can say that it is more than $2,000. The total weight of food and toys was around 125 lbs and has already been dropped of at the Rimbey Food Bank,” said Kristine Stebanuk, program manager with Rimbey Victim Services.
