This team of Leon Adam, lead, Flo Howe, second, Gladys Maciborsky, third and Bill Howe, skip, placed first in the first Floor Curling Challenge Cup held in Ponoka by the Zone 4 Silver Willow Assoc. ( Alberta 55 plus). They were tied for first place after 2 games and managed to defeat the other team vying for first place with the same amount of wins, Ole Lundle from Camrose. It was a 6 to 3 victory.
Teams had arrived from Camrose, Bittern Lake, Hay Lakes, Rimbey, Falun and Wetaskiwin.
