They conquered Alberta and then they conquered British Columbia.

Now the Bentley Generals are marching east in hopes of conquering the entire country.

At least, as far as senior hockey goes.

The Generals made quick work of the Fort St. John Flyers in the McKenzie Cup finals recently and as a result, have qualified to battle for the Allan Cup, emblematic of senior hockey supremacy in Canada.

Playing the entire series in Fort St. John, B.C., the Generals opened with a 5-1 win but had the tables turned on them in Game 2 by falling 5-0 to the Flyers.

But Bentley rebounded and won the last two games – 4-3 in Game 3 and 3-1 in Game 4 to win the best-of-five series three games to one and advance to Brantford, Ontario – host community of the 100th anniversary of the Allan Cup.

In Brantford, the Generals will find themselves playing in Division 2 in the opening round and will face the host Brantford Blast and the Shawinigan Xtreme Bionest, winners of the Quebec loop of senior hockey.

If successful in the opening round, the Generals will advance to the playoff round where they could face one of the teams from Division 1 including the Lloydminster Border Kings, the Dundas Real McCoys or the Whitby Dunlops.

As of press time on Monday morning, the full schedule of games was not available, however the Generals will face Shawinigan this Tuesday, April 15 beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST (5:30 p.m. MST), before facing Brantford the following night, also beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST.
