Girls take champ title

The Rimbey Junior Girls Volleyball team won gold in the A-division against Mayerthorpe at their own tournament held Sept. 27 and 28.

Other teams who competed in the tournament include St. Augustine Catholic School Junior Girls and St. Augustine RV girls, Caroline, Grand Trunk, Mayerthorpe, Daysland, St. Dominic, Holy Redeemer and Caroline.

Coach Lisa Shukin said the girls have been on a winning streak since the season started.

They won the first three games of league play against St. Augustine Catholic School, St. Dominic Catholic School and David Thompson High School.

The girls home games for the remainder of the season are against Delburne Oct. 7, David Thompson Oct. 9, St. Dominic Oct. 16 and Parkview School Oct. 23.

Shukin said Rimbey Junior Varsity girls also competed in the tournament and had several competed matches.

Their home games are Oct. 15 against St. Dominic, Oct. 22 against David Thompson, Oct. 29 against St. Augustine and Nov. 5 against Delburne.
