Minor hockey winding down

The Rimbey Minor Hockey season is winding down. The year end wind up event will be held at the Peter Lougheed CommunityCentre on March 22.

The Rimbey Minor Hockey season is winding down. The year end wind up event will be held at the Peter Lougheed CommunityCentre on March 22 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The annual general meeting for the Rimbey Minor Hockey Association will be held on April 5 at 7 p.m. in the Lions Room at the Community Centre.

Two minor hockey teams will finish the season at Provincials. The EckRim Rimbey Renegades Atom A are the Zone 4champions for the 2015-2016 season. They will be participating in the Atom B Provincials held in Vegreville from March 17-20. The Renegades advanced to the championship tournament by eliminating teams from Sylvan Lake, Blackfalds and Thorsby. At the provincial tournament they will be playing against teams from Provost, St. Paul and Sundre.

The playoffs for the provincial championship begin on Saturday. The Canalta Peewee A Renegades will play at the Peewee C Provincials sponsored by ATB Financial in Rimbey on March 10-13th. Everyone is encouraged to wear hockey jerseys on Friday, March 11.
