A Rimbey bowling team will soon be off to Saint John, New Brunswick to represent Alberta in the Canadian Senior Games to be held Aug. 21 to 24.

Lorraine Jarl, Barbara Patey, Marion Repas and Alvin Goetz will leave Aug. 20 for their adventure.

The bowling team won zones earlier this year and then went on to qualify for the Canadian senior games by winning gold in provincials held in Calgary earlier this year.

The team is excited to be participating in the Games, although Patey pointed out they will be candlepin bowling which is different from the five pin bowling they are used to.

“Nobody has ever had a perfect game,” added Jarl.

However, Goetz, the only male on the team is quite confident they will do well.

“We’re gonna win,” he said.

Janet Henry and Duncan Congcar qualifed for golf in the senior games to be held in New Brunswick as well.
