Rimbey Minor Hockey Association (RMHA) is gearing up for its season and is eager for their players to hit the ice.

“The association is excited to be heading in to a return to hockey,” said RMHA promotions and communications contact Maria Tisdale and president Doug Paris in an email.

“We are looking forward to the kids returning to the ice and will be following all guidelines set out by Hockey Alberta and Alberta Health Services (AHS) to provide a safe and fun return to hockey.”

As of Sept. 14, about 125 players had signed up.

The association prefers if registrations are completed prior to the start of the season as they will be forming teams, but will take registrations past the start date.

Ice is expected to be ready at the arena during the week of Sept. 28, and RMHA has booked skills camps for the first weekend in October.

“There will certainly be changes this year in comparison to previous years.”

There will be a larger focus at the start of the year on player development rather than league player.

Cohort groups, that will be determined as the season gets underway, will be used in order to play games.
