Rimbey Minor Hockey officially ends season with Awards Night

A large crowd was on hand at the Community Centre last Wednesday night as Rimbey Minor Hockey celebrated another successful season with a year-end windup that included a number of award presentations.

While all players at the initiation and novice levels received participation medals and certificates, winners from the Atom A Wolverines were Chase Makofka for most dedicated player, Kyle Valstar for most sportsmanlike and Mitchell Giebelhaus for most improved. From the Atom B Snipers were Marshall Johns – most dedicated, Parker Frayn – most sportsmanlike and Lauren Pearman who was recognized as the team’s most improved player.

For their most dedicated player, the Peewee A Redcoats selected Bailey Lawson with Tanner Cameron as most sportsmanlike and Kaiden Eadie as the most improved. Winners from the Peewee B Rednecks included John Hartman – most dedicated player, Brendon Tennant – most improved and Reid Frayn was named the team’s most sportsmanlike player.

The Bantam A Rippers chose Cole Nicholson as their most dedicated player, Rhett Ritter as the most sportsmanlike player and Jesse Ross as the most improved player. Receiving recognition from the Bantam B Timberwolves were most dedicated player Brock Boguski, most sportsmanlike Morgan Pearman and Jayce Eadie, who was named the team’s most improved player.

Beau Sincennes of the Midget Knights was named the team’s most dedicated player with Deron Elst as the most sportsmanlike and Wilson Weiss, who was named the Knight’s most improved player.

As for the major awards, Atom B Snipers coach Sean Smith was presented with the Randy Frayn Memorial Coaching Award while Kayde Braithwaite of the Rednecks won the Kyle Cadsand Memorial Award.

The evening also recognized those who do their best to ensure the game is played fairly including Colton Bobyk who was named the most improved referee and Gary Dube as the most dedicated referee.
