It was the end of the line for the Rimbey Rock last Saturday night in Red Deer as the Rock were swept from the playoffs in the opening round of the Heritage Junior Hockey League.

In the closest game of the series, the Rock lost Game 1 in Red Deer last Wednesday by a score of 6-3 but it was all down hill from there for the local squad.

The Rock hosted the Vipers on Friday night for Game 2 of the series and although the game started out close, in didn’t take long for Red Deer to build a huge lead on their way to a 12-3 thrashing of the Rock.

Things got even worse the following night back in Red Deer for Game 3 as the Rock could not hit the scoreboard on their way to a 12-0 beating and an early elimination from the playoffs.

It was their return season in the league following a one-year leave of absence. The Rock finished the regular portion of the year in sixth place in the Northern Conference with a record of 10 wins, 25 losses and one tie.
