Spartans win Central West League Championship

Meet the Spartans. The Rimbey Jr./Sr. High School’s senior boys' basketball team captured the Central West League championship recently, after with a 85-58 win over David Thompson High School near Rocky Mountain House. The Spartans clinched the title when they defeated Pigeon Lake 100-59 earlier in the week.

The Spartans went undefeated in their league this season, winning each game by an average of 28 points and have earned the right to host the zone tournament with their opening game to be held on March 12 when they host Viking at 2 p.m. The top two teams from this tournament will head to the provincial tournament at Augustana College University in Camrose March 18 to 20.
