Tiny Mites tournament attracts six teams

Nordstrom Dental Tiny Mites head coach Shayne Ledieu said he is thankful for all the sponsors and volunteers.

Nordstrom Dental Tiny Mites head coach Shayne Ledieu said he is thankful for all the sponsors and volunteers who played a role in the Tiny Mites Hockey Tournament held last weekend.

“With the generous sponsorships we were able to have a six-team tournament which included two teams from Sylvan Lake and one team from Okotoks, Eckville and Josephburg.”

During the tournament each team had three round robin games. “We awarded two Heart and Hustle rewards to each team for all nine games and provided every player with a player gift and a medallion acknowledging their participation,” he said.

The Nordstrom Dental Rimbey Renegades Tiny Mite team has a good mix of players this year of first and second year Tiny Mites and they are all very enthusiastic about playing hockey.

Ledieu also thanked all the volunteers (Rimbey Minor Hockey Board Members and Parents) for their hard work and dedication throughout the year and during this tournament.

“The players and coaching staff really appreciate everything you do behind the scenes so we can just play hockey,” he said.
