Some of the area’s best rock stars hit the pebbled ice of the Rimbey Curling Club in mid November for the annual Men’s Open Curling Bonspiel with ten teams competing for a prize pool of approximately $1,500.

Leading the way was the Allan Jones rink of Winfield who captured the “A” Event with runner-up money going to Gerry Winters. In the “B” Event, the Jeff Collins foursome came out on top followed by the John Tisdale rink while Bob Pecharsky captured the “C” event with Jim Robinson’s team placing second. In the “D” Event, the Gord Mydland rink of Bentley captured top spot followed by the Brent Ledieu foursome which placed second.

With the exceptions of the Jones and Mydland rinks, all the other teams were from Rimbey.
