The Early Days Walking Tour is a great way to learn how the town of Rimbey became the town it is today. Explore 35 different historic locations over four kilometres – a leisurely two hours by foot.
The original appearance of some of Rimbey’s earliest buildings has been obscured by the passage of time, but you’ll discover their history and learn about the ghosts of a few that are long gone… or are they?
The beautiful Pas-Ka-Poo Park includes large, open lawns, heritage village site, museums and an array of interesting displays, including the world’s largest collection of International Trucks in the Smithson International Truck Museum. The original Kansas Ridge School, town office, general store, barbershop, blacksmith shop and Church of the Epiphany are filled with period memorabilia. The main museum buildings contain a huge variety of wonderful artifacts donated by Rimbey pioneers and the original Bluffton Legion, renovated in 2014, contains comprehensive exhibits dedicated to their veterans.
Looking for simplicity and fresh air? Find several additional parks and playgrounds in Rimbey besides Pas-Ka-Poo Park, which also hosts playground equipment, picnic tables, trails, covered pavilion and museum. Find tennis and basketball courts, a BMX Park with playground equipment, BMX jumps and trail, a soccer field and a ball diamond. Eastview Crescent Park has a great open space and Lions Park 1 has playground equipment, picnic tables and open space, as does Lions parks 2 and 3. Rimwest Crescent Park has open space and some trails to explore. Take a picnic and let the kids run free!

• Red Deer, Calgary and Edmonton are all less than two hours away, making Rimbey a great place for a peaceful stay after visiting the bigger cities in the day.
• The Kinsmen Club of Rimbey is developing Central Alberta Raceways, a motorsports park that upon completion will include a quarter-mile drag strip, a 500m dirt oval, a bike oval, demolition derby, motocross track, mud bog and trailer/camping area.
Rimbey enjoys long, warm summers and cold winters.
Getting Here
From Calgary, Rimbey is just over a two-hours drive north via AB-2 N, while Red Deer is about 45 minutes northwest. From Edmonton, drive to Rimbey in about 90 minutes via AB-2 and AB-53 W.
