Ag society plans busy summer

TREENA MIELKE/Rimbey Review

The Rimbey Ag Society has an active summer planned.

President Stan Goetz said the society is busy year round, but summer is the definitely the busiest time.

“In the summer months especially, there is lots going on, rodeos, 4-H shows. It (the grounds and buildings) is a place for local people to go and use.”

“We’re hoping to build a bigger building,” he said. No timelines have been established although the Society has received $700,000 for the project from Ponoka County.

Meanwhile, several events have been booked through the Society for the summer.

These are as follows:

The Blindman Pony Club Horse Show will be held June 24 to 26.

The Rimbey Rodeo Association’s local and CARA Rodeo is coming up July 8, 9 and 10 and a Ranch Rodeo will be held July 16 and 17.

Alberta Barrel Racing Association jackpots will be held July 5 and 19 and Aug. 2 and 16.

Every Thursday until Sept. 8, Kansas Ridge Riders and Rimbey Ag Society will host gymkhanas.
