It’s that time of year again when the Rimbey Community Chorus gets ready for its annual holiday performances.

“We’ve been doing this for over 30 years,” said Annette Boorman, the chorus conductor.

This year’s performance, titled Sing Alleluia, will take place Dec. 20 and 21 at the Rimbey United Church at 7:30 p.m.

“It’s a program of Christmas music, some old carols done in a new way, and then there’s some new contemporary music. The program is about an hour and a half,” said Boorman.

The concert has always been free to attend, however, they do accept donations to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, with all of the money being donated to them.

The chorus has been practicing for their upcoming performance since the first Wednesday in October, and meet weekly.

“We have over 50 singers this year, so that’s a big choir this year.”

Boorman said they are always looking for new members to join, with no audition necessary.
