It was a magical evening of events for the whole family to enjoy at the MystiCarnival event at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre on Nov. 23.

Hosted by the Rimbey Municipal Library, the event saw a great turnout.

“It was absolutely wonderful. Our goal was to bring the community together at an event where there would be no barriers whatsoever,” said Jean Keetch, library manager, adding that the event was free and open to everyone of all ages.

And there was quite the line-up of performers, including a retired aerialist from Cirque du Soleil, who did two hoop acts and one silk act, a magician, who was asked to perform at the Vancouver Olympics, two stilt walkers, one hula hoop artist, a plethora of face painters, balloon twisters and glitter tattooists.

“We also had a corner where the kids could learn some circus tricks,” said Keetch.

Hawk Tail beer was also available for purchase, and there was also a free light dinner for those to enjoy.
