Greeting from Breton Elks Lodge #402

Well, hello everyone. Here is hoping that all are healthy and somewhat wealthy. It appears that Sister Spring has experienced some travel complications and had to book a later flight. But, not all is bad because snow does not burn and it does represent moisture. As well as all the hardships of weather related items, we have also had time to adjust to our good old daylight savings. My tomatoes are on the move, every day they are showing a greater promise of good things to come.

Moving on the Elks news at hand there will be a spring Walkathon in Hythe for our northern friends and in Sundre for our neighbors to the south.

On April 25 the Rimbey Hospital Legacy Committee will host a VIP Breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to raise money for a Cardiac Monitoring System. For further information please contact Patrick Rurka at 1(403)392-3044

Brother Jerry reported that our lodge sold 160 raffle ticket books this year and he will proceed with the ordering of 150 books for next year.

Brother Bob and Brother Darren reported that the Family Day breakfast and bingo games were another success. A huge thank you to all the Brothers and Sisters for their efforts.

Our Spring District meeting took place at the Breton Community Centre on April 6.

Moving on into spring activities, the lodge is making plans for a spring cleaning of the RV Park for late April or early May. The members have also decided to donate $1,000.00 to the walkathon and $500.00 to FCSS for the summer activities.

This brings me to the end of the latest in Elkdom for the Breton Lodge. I want to wish everyone a special Happy Easter, stay healthy and soon it will be time to plant flowers.
