The Rimbey elementary school approved the donation of the main auditorium in the Peter Lougheed Community Centre for the Rimbey elementary school Christmas concert for Dec. 13, 14 and 15.

Council approved $500 to go towards the Canalta Rimbey Renegades Peewee A hockey team for their provincial tournament.

Council agreed to remain part of Red Deer River Watershed Alliance, although not all of council agreed it would be a good idea.

“I don’t see how much benefit it is to the town,” said Coun. Jack Webb, who voted against the decision.

“It gives us a message how we can improve. I think it’s an important thing to maintain our membership,” said Coun. Paul Payson.

Reuben Giebelhaus, who attended the council meeting said he didn’t understand why he couldn’t drop off varnished wood at the recycle depot in Rimbey, but was told to take it to Bluffton.

Council explained the Bluffton facility was equipped to deal with such items as varnished wood.
