The Rimbey Spartans High School football team is having a stellar season so far with five wins and zero losses.

Offensive coach Jarrod Robertson said the team is comprised of a great group of kids.

“Everybody understands they are there to work,” he said. “And that’s what they do.”

The Spartans went up against Caroline Thursday night. It was a cold night on the field, with the bite of winter in the air, but the weather did nothing to deter the Spartans who rushed ahead with a decisive 80 - 19 win.

Robertson said the Spartans put on a similar show at their last away game, defeating Provost 65 – 0.

With three weeks remaining in season play, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Spartans finish off the year undefeated, although one should never be too confident.

The next game is Oct. 27 in Hanna and on Nov. 3, the Spartans take on Strathmore. The playoffs may be held in Lacombe, but a definite location has not yet been finalized.

Bill Bramfield is the head coach of the Spartans, Jarrod Robertson is the offensive coach and Josh Bouwsema is the defensive coach. Jenna Meisner is the trainer.
