On March 22 and 23 the annual West of the Fifth Rimbey Pro Rodeo will take place at the Co-Operators Agrim Centre.
The rodeo will feature cowboys and cowgirls from across Canada competing in a number of events.
On the Friday evening the event will kick off at 4 p.m. with the Tekh Group local steer riding. Following the steer riding at 7 p.m. the pro rodeo events will take place. On Saturday the professional rodeo events will start at 7 p.m.
Stock for this year’s event comes from Duffy Rodeo. Both evenings will host a beer gardens.
Dallas Duffy, committee member for West of the Fifth Rimbey Pro Rodeo, stated a portion of this year’s proceeds will also be going towards a donation to STARS Air Ambulance.
“STARS is very close to our committee’s heart - we had a committee member who had to use STARS after a workplace accident,” said Duffy. “In past year’s we’ve donated to other organizations such as We Stand United With Ukraine and this will be our second time donating to STARS.”
“As a rodeo committee we wanted to give back where we could and we feel it’s important to give back to the community who supports us.”
