FOWLER
Lavina Fay Fowler of Rimbey, Alberta, affectionately known to many as "Pee Wee", was born on February 6, 1942 in Camrose, Alberta. She passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the age of 73 years.
Lavina was raised on a farm in the Donalda, Alberta area. As a teenager, she moved to Daysland, Alberta to help Hubert Twitchell and his young daughter, Grace. Lavina lived there for over 40 years. In 2002, she was united in marriage to Bill Fowler and moved to the Hoadley area, remaining there until moving into Rimbey in 2011. Lavina enjoyed animals, gardening, playing cards, dancing, curling, bowling, going for a drive, and helping others.
Lavina will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Blanche (Sam) Allison; her brother, Darwin (Gloria) Batke; and her stepdaughter, Grace (Lou) Richard. She will also be lovingly remembered by her stepsons: Clifford Fowler, Gordon Fowler, Jim Fowler, and Harold (Jody) Fowler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lavina was predeceased by her parents, Irvin and Leila Batke; her life companion, Hubert in 2000; her husband, Bill in 2011; and a baby sister, Sharon.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Lavina's Life was held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date in the Hoadley Cemetery, Hoadley.
