Rock hosts Oval X-Treme in fundraising game

The Rimbey Rock had some pretty prestigious friends over for a visit recently in the form of the Calgary-based Oval X-Treme women’s hockey team and in the process, the Rock raised nearly $2,800 and promptly donated it to the Canadian Cancer Society’s research foundation with the aim of finding a cure for breast cancer.

Spartans advance to semi-finals following win over Drayton Valley

With a combination of some lengthy offensive plays and some stingy defense, the Rimbey Spartans football team have advanced beyond the first round of playoffs following a 50-36 win over the Drayton Valley Frank Maddock Warriors last Thursday afternoon.
