ear Editor; I feel compelled to write this letter to once again bring to the attention of the residents of Rimbey, some of the situations that are taking place in town. I have recently had another experience that many have endured, and I wonder if there is some reason that incidents like these continue to take place in what we like to think of as our small town that offers a safe and healthy environment in which to reside, raise our children or retire.

Dear Editor; The Lavesta Area Group and the UPTAG Association are extremely disappointed with the recent announcement by Environment Minister Rob Renner to eliminate the requirement for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for 500KV transmission line proposals. In his announcement Mr. Renner said his experience shows Albertans’ concerns over transmission lines are related to routing, land management and human health.

How can it be said that seatbelt use on our school buses does not improve safety to our children?

It is hardly surprising and extraordinarily dangerous to national unity that the Harper government is seeking a majority by filling the separatist vacuum in Quebec.

I am writing you concerning a subject that affects all Canadians. On April 8, 2008, the Minister of Health in Canada introduced Bill C-51 into the House of Commons. This Bill proposes significant changes to the current Food and Drugs Act that would allow our government to bypass Parliamentary approval on new laws introduced in Canada.

Is it just me, or are there double standards in Canada for the acceptance of an apology?

We need more courageous MPs like Calgary’s Rob Anders who will protect our Canadian values. And we need fewer MPs, media and VIPs who kowtow to the oppressive regime in Beijing.
